An industry that's fit for everyone

Diversity and inclusion An industry thats fit for everyone We have made significant strides this year on progressing the ABIs Diversity and Inclusion agenda. Since launching the Making Flexible Work campaign and Charter in April, we developed brand new content showcasing the benefits of job sharing and hosted our second Diversity Summit This year we launched the Making Flexible Work campaign and Charter to increase all forms of flexible working in our sector, including job sharing, and help members accelerate work to improve diversity and narrowing the gender seniority gap. With 30 firms committed to the Charter, the campaign generated positive press coverage in both national and trade media, including the Financial Times. It was also the ABIs most engaged campaign to date on social media, with 60k impressions overall and the campaign animation was viewed 13k times in total across LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. 30 firms including Members, Associate Members and the ABI committed to the Making Flexible Work Charter Over the summer, our #MakingFlexibleWork campaign focused on job sharing, highlighting its benefits and busting common myths. We shared a range of content available on our job sharing web pages. This includes guest blogs, podcast appearances and a practical guide to job sharing for employees and employers. Making Flexible Work has been publicly endorsed by Labour Markets Minister Paul Scully MP, the EHRC, the Women and Work APPG, and Amanda Blanc, Group CEO, Aviva and HM Treasurys Women in Finance Champion, among others. We have also worked to progress key activity across members priority areas. For example, we have driven forward work to improve socio-economic diversity, supporting the work of a new sectorwide taskforce. We have also supported initiatives to increase ethnic representation at all levels, such as 10,000 Black Interns programme and the Race Action Through Leadership initiative. 60k social media impressions overall Four network sessions attended by more 150 than D&I and HR leads We further expanded our Talent and Diversity Network and held four network sessions attended by more than 150 D&I and HR leads, featuring external speakers from organisations such as Timewise and DuoMe. We also worked to increase participation in the ABI 2020 and 2021 Data collections, as well as expanding the scope to include new measurements of key indicators. We hosted our second Diversity Summit on 12 October, which you can watch online. This was the ABIs first hybrid event, and a range of industry experts and commentators took part to share insights, data and practical examples to support greater socio-economic and ethnic diversity in our sector.
